Default Your homemade turbo kit

I'm looking at piecing together my own turbo kit pretty soon and am looking into a Revhard manifold and a 16G turbo...

Besides upgrading the fuel system, getting, a tune, etc. I'm just interested in what everybody else is running.

This is for a B18C1

homemade turbo kit does not mean it has to be ghetto, my complete setup was done by me including tuning , and it does have one ghetto part on it , from building the motor head to block , piecing the kit together and installing it and tuning and maintaining it.

homemade turbo does not mean junkyard ghetto, its just an option, and you can also build a nice junkyard setup that will tear into most $50k cars.

you will never get good advice here because most members dont know the first step of working on a car, they buy a car and drop it off at the shop to get it done, noticed most technical question go unanswered?
so your best place iinfo is here http://www.homemadeturbo.com. read the rules, have **** ready

When you go to homemadeturbo, you will find a few rude people but most are helpful. There is quite a bit of racism there.

When I say homemade turbo I don't mean junkyard...I'm going to be buying all the parts brand new, just separately.

1 Quick question, then I'll give a run-down of what I'm thinking of...

Will a 16G turbo bolt up to this RevHard manifold?

I'm looking at that manifold, a 16G turbo, bigger injectors (500cc or somewhere in that area), intercooler/piping, oil return line, and Hondata to tune...sound like that could put around 225 to the wheels on 10psi?

I'm pretty sure you will need an adapter flange. T3 to 16G

now how is EVERYONE being called a ni**er constituted as racism? nobody is being singled out based on skin color, ethnic background, religion, etc. EVERYONE is treated equal. think about it...

there is a ton of good info over at homemadeturbo, you just have to sift through the bullshit namecalling.

heres what I run:

Precision SC34
Precision 880 injectors
Resistor box
Drag Mani(about to change to tubular so its for sale along with the dp)
Hondata S300 with gear boost option
Tial 38mm wastegate
Open dumptube
Apexi 3" N1 catback
GM 3 bar map sensor
ARP rod bolts (LS/VTEC so I can rev out to 8200)
GSR head
Golden Eagle Block Guard
ARP head bolts
Walboro 255 intank pump
Vacuum manifold
Spoolin IC pipes and intercooler
T-bolts
Z10 VTEC conversion lit
Plastic intake gasket
Cometic Head Gasket
Quiafe LSD
Hasport motor mounts and tranny mount
Derale slim fan
Greddy Type RS BOV
Skunk 2 pro series cam gears(6 bolt)

I pieced everything together like you are going to. None of the kits really did it for me and I got to pay everything in pieces not all at once.

Install was done by Epic Tuning in Allentown PA and the tune was done by Evans tuning in PA. Made 340 with boost creep. Hopefully the new Spoolin manifold will correct that. Good luck with the build...it was worth the wait for me.

I wouldn't go with the revhard just for the wastegate placement, but if you are not running a huge gate and downpipe you should be fine. Spoolin has tubular logs for 300

This is most definitely a budget build, but I'm buying quality parts.

All of the install will be done by me, my dad, and my brother (we run an import auto repair/performance shop) and the tune will be for free by some friends who run the local speed shop.

I'm gonna sit down tonight and get a list together.

Yes, there is a lot of good information on there which i used myself. As long as you use the technical section. But once you go into the general discussions its different. When someone posts a story or video of something happening to a black person and theres 20 replies saying "thats what those ******s get", or "stupid ******s", then yeah you have to think that theres some racism going on there. But it does have a lot of good info for doing your own turbo setup.

We strategically flame noobs to ensure quality members. If you can laugh with us, you'll stick around. If you can't, then you won't stay around. Because of this strategy, you won't find posts like "how much horzepowerZ will I make", "make me a list for my turbo kit", or "how does my drain line look".

Sounds pretty smart now, huh?

When I'm working tues & thurs in Milwaukee, in specific District 7 (highest violent crime rate), EVERYONE is called a ****** - its just that part of town's replacement for basicly every pronoun. I get called that all the time, yet I'm whiter than white in the winter. In other words, if a particular race is going to promote a 'racist' word in *any* way, I feel free to use it too.

ANyways, HMT had a recent influx of n00bs asking incredibly stupid questions, and the only time you won't get flamed on HMT is if its a question unsolved after 2 hours of googling/etc, of if you post ****. Its just how that site is.

Which means we rarely have technological breakthroughs, or anything tech. It's mostly a group of turbo people who like to joke around, find cheap classifieds, and post ****. Much more entertaining than the same questions over and over.

Actually they also call people ******s and spics. I don't really care, I was just letting the guy know what he was going to see. I haven't been flamed so I don't really care.

I've done a few hmt kits, and this most recent one is the most presentable of all of them.

I bought all the parts either used, or from HMT vendors. The kit came out really nice, makes great power, and I didn't spend much on it.

There are ghetto ways and nice ways to do HMT kits. It's up to you and your budget.

I loved my first kit, cost way less than $1000, and I was well over 200whp on my stock d16z6. I was smoking people with $3k swaps and loving every minute of it. It didn't look pretty, but I didn't really give a ****, I'd rather go fast than impress people when I pop my hood.
