Dont want my car stolen
I'm hoping to get an integra soon but i am going to have to park it outside. I live in a townhouse area with parking about 100 ft away from my home. I live by a **** load of mexicans (no offense to any mexicans out there who are not theives) but the ones i live by... Anyways i was wondering what the best cut off switch would be so it would make it harder for them to steal my car. Besides an alarm and a glock what else should i do to keep my car from being stolen? Thx for your help
-soon to be gsr owner that is scared of losing my car

I'm calling ADT right now... asking them to add a 7th zone to my damn house alarm.
I never thought I'd have to alarm the garage. This is ridiculous.

I believe the A.T.S. thingie is car specific, and you have to have special keys and whatever.
Regardless, my friend Keith is a repo man, and he assures me that those can be gotten around very easily.
In fact, he says that you can't stop a car thief, you can only inconvenience them enough to make them go away.

What do you guys think about the Autolock?? Is it effective or not??
Does anyone know of any stories where someone was able to steal a car with the autolock on it, if so how did they get around it??

I used to work for a Stereo/alarm company and the way the kill switches are made is through one wire from your ignition. Anyone who knows that will just find out the car doesnt start because of the kill switch and then just look underneath the steering column and just rewire it in like 5 secs and start the car. Id say a shotgun is the most resonable thing
Um... are you guys thinking correctly? It's pretty easy to just rent a flatbed towtruck for like $40/day and tow any car you want.
A "kill" switch won't do any good when they just tow your car and then strip everything out...
If you're concerned, do one thing to discourage the "non towing" theives by simply installing a "fuel pump kill switch" in a place that is easy to get to for you, but not somepalce a standard thief would look...
Then simply have a lo-jack installed on the car and have a shock sensor connected to an alarm that pages you... if you get a page, check the car, if it's gone, call the cops and usually within 2 hrs you will get a call back saying they found the car.... wether or not it was stripped in that timeframe is left to be questioned....
DO NOT PUT A STICKER ON THE CAR SAYING IT HAS LO-JACK INSTALLED...
Also make sure that the place that installs the lo-jack tells you where it is and immediately offer a DIFFERENT spot to place it. Most Lo-Jacks are installed in "similar" places on cars and can easily be found if installed in the "normal" places.
Or Just have good insurance and don't worry about any of the above...
