Default 97 LS head onto b18A1 converted to obd-1, any changes needed??

I just want to swap the head itself along with the cams.

I've done some reading and I "think" the only difference is the breather tube isnt located on the valve cover on the later revision as opposed to my early a1 but I've also read contradicting stuff about how I would have to change the intake manifold and that the timing is slightly different on the later cams??

I really do hate all the contradictions that are thrown around in various threads on here...

is it a straight swap and I can re-use literally everything and be done with it or not??

also, what would I do about my valve cover vent since it will be moved?? or even there?? I think I saw what looked like it on the actual head itself over at my friend's house.

my friend swapped a head from a 96 b18b onto his 92 b18a1. all we did was use his sensor and everything from his old head. there isn't any difference on the valvecovers except...the newer style valvecovers have the pvc valve on top of the valvecover. everything else is the same. i'm using a valvecover from a 99 ls on my 94 which had the same valvcover as da's.

It depends if you started out with an obd0 or obd1 A1

it was an obd-0 b18a1 that I swapped harnesses/ecu's out to convert it to obd-1.

I have no CEL's either if that makes a difference though I am still using the original intake manifold/throttle body.

I believe on the OBD0 models the fan switch is on the back of the block and on the OBD1/2 its on the thermostat housing but if you are just swapping heads you can leave that one alone on the housing
