Default Rear Channel Speaker (Amplified Subwoofer)

Anyone ever adapted the rear center amplified sub speaker that I believe came standard on the Vtec Preludes, into a lude without the rear center speaker, I believe it requires a amplifier, not sure how it wires into the factory radio?

EDIT: Sorry, I was reading the post wrong.

Yes you can, all you really need is a small amp and sub that fits if you can't get the OEM parts.

(ps, vtech is a phone - vtec is a honda )

many people have installed that setup into preludes that did not originally have it. Some people have found the harness some people haven't. if there is no harness it is not that hard to wire. Its harder to find all the parts.

yep installed this in my 96 si, it came out of a 93 vtec. and swaped the stock sub with a infinity sub, still running the stock amp. it sounds good. just a few wires to hook up. simple.

How did you wire the amp up without the plug? I tried soldering them but it was too cramped and the solders ended up sucking and breaking a lot

I now have the amp, but no wiring harness, do you know the pin outs for the amp?
If I can get that info I should be able to wire it up no problem I hope?

What model infinity sub did you use?, did it fit in the 6x9 bracket space?
Thanks,
Robert

i cant remember the model number. i bought them as a pair. only needed one, so i still have the other one. brand new. i think it was a 612 or some thing. it sounds grate. and i had the plug for the amp, just looked at my wiring diagram. real simple. if you want the other 6x9 ill take like 50 shipped for it.

I'v never looked at the speaker or the wiring for that back speaker. Does it just connect to one of the rear speakers?

The harness in the VTEC preludes leads from the plug to each of the speakers, ACC and ground and then of course two to the 6X9 woofer.
I have the entire VTEC rare console for sale, speaker+ frame+ mini amp+cover+94 up rear seat divider.

yeah i kinda thought so.
before i went aftermarket with subs and an amp, the stock system bumped pretty good for being stock, so idk; maybe there is an amp for mids somewhere.

I am now hooking the rear speaker up, I have the original Honda rear 6x9 speaker, I will have to wire it up to the Honda amp, is there any way to tell which terminals on the speaker are + and - ?
They are not labeled on the Honda speaker.
Thanks

Does anyone know if it really matters on the + and - terminals in this setup?
The speaker is not labeled + or -
Thanks,
Robert

There is no difference in the size of the connectors on the original Honda center speaker.
