Default i'm starting some ITB's in solidworks (no 56k)

so this is about an hours worth of work. im kinda tired so i'll make this first post a little brief

im designing these for ka24's and sr20's. im waiting on head flanges to digitize so i can make sure the runners are the proper length and angle, as well as the runner spacing is proper.

once i have the head flanges i will be making injectors and a rail to check clearances and i will also be making a plenum. my goal is to have 5 sets made for an sr20 and 5 for ka24's. i need to talk to my boss and show him these plans. more than likely this will be a very expensive item but well worth the price

more details later. onto pics

sr20det. the head flange sits at an angle on the red tops' so the curve is need to get the itb on a horizontal plane.

i may try to see if i can get a nice broad bend, then i could eliminate the sharp 35* bend

will the bottom half(elbow) be machined or casted? or just a bent aluminum pipe welded on to a flange?

I'm curious to what you mean by "well worth the price" performance? or bling?

machined, nothing here will be cast.
performance, the stock intake manifold is ****, and the greddy just offers a bigger plenum. alot of people swap over to the itb manifold from the gti-r. it offers a performance advantage over the sotck manifold but still has a relatively small butteryfly and plenum size

the elbow isnt final. im going to try a long smooth bend. i just got finished with the rough design of the whole setup

Sweet...I'm just getting started learning Solidworks as of tonight

All I have to say, is Solidworks is AMAZING. What an incredible program. I'm going through the tutorials now trying to get familiar. It's a pretty user friendly program though. For something so complex it's really well laid out and just suprising in so many ways. I guess it should be though for $5,000.00.

you can't. The only way to get a copy for free is through your employeer (like I did), or get a copy of the student edition (although you'd have to pay for a class).

I used to work at a place that used solid works... some of the machines had well over 2000 rendered parts. My favorite was their fully-automatic shotgun they proposed to the Navy. I only got to work on the physical prototype though. Solid works FTW.

BTW where is the back of the plenum going to be? Right behind the v-stack bells, or down by the bolts?
