Default exhaust options

My project crx has some rice *** muffler on it that sounds absolutely horrible. I need to put something together for inspection. I do not have 500 dollars to spend right now and will worry about getting a quality exhaust when I get deeper into my plans. I am looking for a stockish or atleast somewhat stock method that is cheap. What have you guys pieced together to sound stockish, or just a bit "throatier". I know you all know how tough it is to find an actual stock crx exhaust in good condition.

My next question, can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much I would be paying to get custom mandrel bent piping at a local shop?

The vehicle is a 91 crx si with a d16a6. Thank you

Just find a stock axle back for inspection, and then worry about it later.

<-- Running stock exhaust 4 motors later

yes this is basically what im doin, however I havent had any sucess finding any local for cheap. Do any other mufflers mount up to the stock hangers, like the 90-93 teg, hatch, accords? And since i'm gonna have this one on for awhile, I would still like mayb a BIT more powerful sound than just the stock muffler, but I gues I can take care of that with different piping..Anyone know the answer to my question above on custom piping?

ok heres what i did, i have a 4 door and instead of waistin money on a ricey exhaust iwent to a muffler shop in my area and had the guy 2.5" pipping and just a resonator and had it off the right side just hidin above the bumper barely pointing down, cant tell i have an exhaust, not loud when normal driving and it sounds nice and deep.oh I only spent $80, done in less than an hour.mufflers are pointless.

damn I picked up a junkyard exhaust for $15 a few months ago.

All the shops around here are between $200-$300 for custom pipes.

exhaust shops around here will do non mandrel bends for like 6 bucks a foot on exhaust and charge pipes.
