tranny revs after 4k when warm

Default tranny revs after 4k when warm

i posted b4 but didnt get much feed back. my trany revs after it gets to 4k and doesnt lock in gear unless i sit on the pedal i changed the fluid and it still does it anyone have any answers ?

You mean your engine freely accelerates and the transmission just seems to ignore it? Sounds like a bad clutch.

yeah exactly , thats what i've been told how complicated or uncomplicated it is to change the clutch out urself

How much mechanical know-how do you have?

Remove Transmission
Remove old clutch + PP + Flywheel (needs to be resurfaced or replaced)
Reverse of the above two.

That's the super-severe cliff-notes, but if you take your time it isn't that bad.

i have a decent ammount of technical know how however its all on domestic muscle cars , so fairly simple guessin 5-6 hours max ?

Like they say: "If you have to ask..."
Try to find someone who can help you. Even if you have to pay them a few bucks, it's still cheaper than taking it to a shop, and you'll learn how to do it.

its not that i just didnt know wether or not the whole right side of the car needed to be taken off ya know , domestic and imports two very different things especially a 77 nova and an 87 crx but thanks guys , thanks a ton
