A friend of mine just got a new fit today and wanted to remove his front plates since it looks better but he'll be left with holes from the tags.

Looking around some of you don't have your front tags, is there a plug you can get at the dealer to cover them?

If not, where could he get one of these?

 

i think there is a plug for the hole because i think i saw a pix of one before but the plug stands out and is very noticable, i was lucky that the dealership didnt put any holes in my bumper. anyways in the pix thats the jdm front end, its totally different than our usdm front end, to get that bumper you'll be doing a whole front end conversion - fenders, hood, rebar, headlights

 

In Virginia it's state law to have to show your front tags.

And about the picture, I was refering to the front license plate bracket where you can angle it downward. Anyone know where to get it?

 

Where are the holes? My Fit came with dealer front plate but there are no holes from the removal.

If u still want that one like in ur pic, here it is below but lemme tell u it won't work w/ the usdm fit b/c the license plate is supposed to be "angled" into the front bumper opening and that means u gotta drill 2 new holes so u can mount it:

I would prefer the password one b/c u drill 2 small holes under the bumper opening so u don't even see em and its very sturdy.

 

We just removed the plate and the dealership owned my friend. Though the bracket was attached on the bottom of the bumper, there was ONE screw that was drilled directly into the bumper itself. After removing the bracket and license plate, there is a small hole directly in the center of his bumper.

Any ideas on what he should do? Just place the bracket back on? The car is 2 days old, would you recommend going to a body shop and have them patch it up?

 

go back 2 the dealer n make em fix it! tell em that it's not necessary 2 drill a new hole in the bumper cuz the bracket holes are on the bottom. I know that on the fitfreak.net website this was discussed and ppl actually got the bumper either fixed or replaced. I also know that another member on there had one hole also and he bought a licence plate plug from a guy here on ht. it's basically just a body colored plug that covers up those holes on older model honda's. I should know cuz i had 2 of em for the ugly looking holes in my EG's bumper. Newayz go back 2 the dealership n have it discussed, then w/ the money u woulda blown on a body shop, go 2 password:jdm and order the relocation bracket.

Exactly. The way the bracket is designed it only connects under/behind the bumper, it is not necessary to drill a hole in the bumper. Man Id be mad as hell and demand either a new bumper or a satisfactory fix.

There are also plugs you can usually buy from the dealer themselves that go directly into the hole.
