Default NEEDY NOOBIE

alright its REKO again... thanks for your help last time guys.. I already feel like a family member...you guys are f'in smart...

but enough with the mushy stuff...

My purpose is to build a spaceship.

it sounds cheese now.. but ever since i was a kid i wanted a nice ride.

i want to lower my car to the ground maybe 2 inches. or atleast enough to go over speed bumbs without scraping the front bumper.

i dont want to be bouncing around all over the place... like some rides.

And i just want to float over the ground taking any turns i want without slipping around or hearing my tires screech.

i need a SOLID DROP in suspension. tight ride .smooth turns.

so thanks for all your help so far...

If you can help me more now let me know.

ever watch the 'top gear" videos? Even the suspensions on the exotic cars they drive screech. Unless you have an indy car with 400 wide tires, you will probably screech around the corners trying to do it fast.

i had a CRX with Toyo Proxxie T1S tires, i could never get them to screech.

ANYWAY.

Good Suspension is a function of MANY parts, not just springs.

#1) A Good coilover/ Coiloversleeve+Strut
#2) A balanced sway bar setup
#3) Strut bars

If u want to be SUPER low, u will have problems with the ride quality, its a given. U will also scrape ur exhaust a LOT faster than u will the front/rear bumpers. Our exhausts sit LOW, it sucks, but o well.

Tons of people here will reccomend a variety of spring/coilover/strut packages, u need to know wat u want to pick the best 1.

for example

Toyomatt LIVES by his F2's with custom spring rates, where Boilermaker ( who arguably is the biggest tracker among us) switch from ( i think) Tein's to Ground COntrol coil over sleeves with Koni Yellow shocks.

There are also many people with Ksports, Progress, and a TON of us with springs.

Springs will rarely give u the best performance, due to its lack of adjustablity and spring rates.

Im sure u would be happy with any of the following.

1) Ground Controls + Koni Yellows
2) F2's
3) Tein's

Don't forget about not skimping on tires. You can have a $3000 suspension setup, but if you have crappy tires, they'll still screech.

I wouldnt go for tokico's with GC's. The tokico's arent meant for shocks as aggressive as the GC's. Tokico's are made for a more subtle drop.

if u want the best struts for GC's, go Koni yellow. THis is agruably the best setup going.
