Painting my car, need a little help.
Ok this is my issue. Im getting ready to spray my car and I don't have a compressor so obviously I have to buy one. Now I work at sears so I can get a discount on a craftsman compressor. Wich one do I buy? Im on a super super tight budget and I saw this one its got this:
125psi max
1HP
7 GAL tank
Its like $159 w/o my discount. Is this good enough to paint my car? and use like an impact? thanx in advance
p.s. I didnt know where exactly to put this so I put it here

Thats too small, you will run out of air to often while painting. When painting you cant stop you have to continuously spray unless paint is flashing. Just pe patient, save, and get a larger compressor.

Thanks anything in particular I should look for other than a bigger tank? What size do you recommend? and cant I just leave the motor running? that will give me enough air?

Thats double what I have going into my guns. I use a regulator and adjust it to 50-60 psi into the air line. Sounds like you need to do more homework. Practice on some junk panels to get the feel for it.

Yeah I have no idea how to go about this. is there any links you know of that will help me out? And yeah I will definitely practice before I do it.
Also how much does tank size really matter? Im probably only gonna use it a few times to paint my friends cars. I mean a cant just leave the motor running? I don even know how it works. does the pump fill up the tank and just use that? Thanks fo the help anyway guys

You can use the one your looking at if you like, but you can only do parts. You will not be able to spray the car all at one time. That is what I have to do with mine. Paint the finders, then the doors, trunk, hood. then what ever is left over. It's a pain, but it is better then spending the money on a bigger one if you don't plan on doing this for a living or don't have the money. Good luck!!!

the 12.99 harbor freight guns....
super shitty, doesnt even have fan control and the spray pattern is terrible and cannot be controlled. Well, I guess i think you should have waited until you had some more money to spend on a compressor and a decent gun. That 15 gallon taank is gonna be working hard to keep up with how many cfm's your gonna be using. Also there are some starter guns that are ok to use for nothing over 150..I think finishline has a decent starter HVLP gun that atleast can control fan, fluid and air control. But i guess we'll see how it turns out for ya..good luck bro

i wanna take the test B5..mechanical or something like that, my teachers i have now say that thats the hardest test to pass...I'm also try to go thru and get I-Car point takencare off too, but its pretty expensive. I go to school for autobody collision and fabrication stuff, so that all kinda helps me out
