Default ECU Question. obd2 p3f ecu but plugs are obd1

Alright so I put a b20b in my integra. Currently I am using a p75 integra ls ecu. I wanted to put the proper ecu that goes with the motor into the car. I've been searching around for crv ecus. I came across jdm ecus for 96+ crv. My integra is a 97 so I thought perfect obd2a. The only thing is the plugs on the ecu look like this:

The ecu is labeled p3f. Anyways could someone clear this up because thos plugs are obd1. Also I was looking at some other ecus What ecus will work with my car. Does it have to be the 2wd ecu or can it be 4wd? Can it be auto or manual even though my car is manual? Anyways someone help me clarify the confusion with this ecu and help me pick up a new ecu. Thank You.

i'd prefer to use the ecu that goes with the engine. running an ls ecu on a b20 i think would be like running a b16 ecu on a gsr.

I can't remember but does the b20 have the dual runners like the gzzer?
All honda ecus are the same. It's just that each ecu uses different components to meet what the car needs to do. I have a 96 Gsr and i'm using a p28 that makes my butterfly work in my intake manifold but on the b16 it has single runners same thing with the R. You CAN convert your p75 into a P72. It's do able. Check out Pgmfi.org. It's there

Don't get confused. "They are all the same" with what he really means which is, "The honda ECUs have been hacked, therefore you can run the programming from any of them on any other one." A P28 and a P72 have vastly different programing from the factory....you can chip/program a P28 with a P72 tune though....or a P72 with a P28 tune....ofcourse thats for OBD I models only.....which the original poster has OBD II and is trying to stick with an OBD II ecu.

So any ideas about why this ecu is from an obd2 car and has obd1 plugs on it. If i put it on my integra with a jumper harness and go for emissions will i pass?

the b20 is a larger version of an b18b1, obviously the bore is bigger along with the stroke, the motors are almost identical, running a p75 wont do it any harm, starve it of fuel, ect. a friend of mine hyad a b20 in his teg, (obd2) he ran the stock p75 and had NO problems passing inspection and emssions with it, the p75 ran the motor jsut fine.

i hope u mean the ecu is chipped with a program to make it do that.. cuz in stock form a p28 wont control the butterflys, im not evne sure if it will if its chipped..

i agree, just make ur life easier and stick with the LS ecu. it wont harm the motor. if u REALLY need to have a program for a 2.0 get it chipped and see if u can get a stock b20 basemap put on, or just get the a/f tuned

To answer your question, the ecu almost has to be a pre-96 model. Maybe it was a 95 casting which could be a 95 or 96 and they assumed it to be a 96 or something.

you can use and auto ecu, but you will get a CEL light. engine will run fine but it will throw a code for automatic transaxle.

this is how the obd2a ecu should look. so the other one is obd1.

a 4wd ecu... read the first thing. pretty much same thing

running the ls ecu is perfectly fine for the b20. someone said something about running a b16 ecu on a b18c1, that is also perfectly fine. i have done it and caused me no problems.

the ls ecu will pass emissions.. but if you are trying to legalize your swap i would ask the ref what ecus you can use. the guy told me the exact ecu i can use, i had a 96 ecu in a 97 and the guy didnt let me pass..

are u positive about that? all ive heard is that an auto ecu wont run a 5 speed correctly.. bad idle, and wont rev past like 4k rpm, probly limp mode
