obd conversions...starter good?

hi guys, a friend is throwing an OBD1 b16a in his civic. but hes converting it to obd2. can he still use the OBD1 starter or does he have to get an OBd2? TIA

OBD1 and OBD2 B series starters are the same (same with D)
