There are some days when my car wont start properly. When I turn the ignition, sometimes it wont start, it makes a repeating clicking sound. If I keep going at it, it eventually starts. On other days its totally fine.

Does this sound like my alternator is going? how much do these things cost for a 1994 LS b18b1?

 

Nope.

Change your spark plugs and wires first and than your distributor cap and rotor.

i changed my plugs a couple weeks ago.......wires and cap around 2 years ago.......maybe the wires are loose.........i'll check that.

 

I would start by checking on the following items:

1. battery - what is the age of the battery, it is possible that the battery is going bad (if the battery is weak, it will not have enough current to engage the starter)
2. starter - it is possible that the solenoid is going bad in the starter (the solenoid is what engages the drive pinion into the flywheel)
3. alternator - have the alternator checked the battery and the starter check out OK. The alternator is responsible for charging the battery.
