Looks like what happened is the Nut that holds the ball joint on to the lower control arm must have came loose and fell off...causing the control arm to drop and allow your axle to come out of place(which in turn toasted your axle
Replace the axle, thats a givin...and then as long as the threads on the ball joint arent trashed, get a new nut...tighten everything up and make sure the cotter pin is in place so that nut doesnt fall off again...

Actually, being that the axle didnt break/cause the problem, you can probably just reboot it (being that the boot got ripped when the ball joint popped off). Ofcourse you'll need the 3 bearings that are missing in action as well....and maybe you should let a shop do it, because what happened looks fairly dangerous and probably caused by some newb that installed the castle nut incorrectly.

I would take apart what you can and inspect everything. That way, you would be able to tell what's good and what is scrap. If it were me, I would replace everything that has even the slightest bit of damage just to be on the safe side.
Be proud to know that:
You just got boned by a $0.03 part.
MAKE SURE TO USE THE COTTER PIN!!! It prevents the castle nut from loosening. Oh yeah, be sure to bend the cotter pin so it doesn't slide out.

Oh yeah, and if a mechanic did the work, sue. Professional misconduct. Easy lawsuit. Fund a non-auto Acura. *Thumb up*
If you did your own work, you just learned a lesson. The hard way.
If a friend did the work, yell at him. Alot.

ok well my friend did the work for me, he put new struts on the car because the old ones went out.
he told me that the thread on the ball joint or on the nut was kinda stripped and that he was going to try and re thread it.
but he said it was fine to drive on.
i guess it wasnt.. lol

haha i did that before on my old crx, i actually forgot to put the bolt on the bottom, luckily i wasnt driving when it popped out, i was at a gas station and made a sharp turn and then all of a sudden BOOM
yea it looks like an noob put on a axle....looks like someone stripped the ball joint. so you need to take off the hub, take it to a shop to press in the new ball joint....its not one of DIY jobs. Then replace axle....and like everyone elses says....cotter pins.
Had the same problem with my civic....and well my car didnt come out as forutante as yours. Good to hear that you are okay

Its a DIY job if you know what you're doing and got the tools.

No...we told you it isnt safe to drive on...and that it needs to be replaced. The only reason why the car was delivered back to you was because we didnt have room to store it anymore. It sat blocking the driveway for a week whilr you were trying to get money to us and undecided about what you wanted to do.
The best part is that no one was hurt and the car is repairable.
