sunday january 21 2007, Import face off came to houston for the annual car show thingy.. I really didnt want to go, bc it was raining and the weather was bad. but my friends talked me into it.. so I went.. I dont like driving my car in the rain, but I did it anyways haha.

At the show, there were a lot of nice show cars, that were built for show.. by no means do I consider my car to be a show car.. everything I built for the car has function, I built to be a fast daily driver, thats reliable. Something that I could drive on a hot summer day, to the coldest winter day. I built the car so that I can take it to the drag strip make some decent passes, as well as taking it around the track, and run some good laps and still be able to drive it home in one single piece.

All in all, with no sleep the night before trying to detail the car to be show ready, I roll up to import face off.. honestly I didnt think i was going to win anything at all, I have a basic stereo setup, no screens or ICE whatever you call it, and some of the cars there, even I thought had really nice setups and clean engine bays.. but at my surprise.. I took home the trophy for Best Engine Bay.. I was so dead tired, when the judges called my name to check my car, I had no clue what was going on.. everyone was telling me to go run to my car, and I thought they were just messing me so I was really in a state of confusion, I never took my car to a show, or ever attended a car show ever.. this was my first experience and overall it was pretty cool.

When I first started reading your post, I was thinking, "whatever, dude." I didn't think there was any way someone that truly went for function could go to a car show and win. Wow, am I greatly mistaken. That engine bay is hot. I'm not much for doing anything for looks. I definitely keep my stuff clean, but I never would have thought to go that far. That is an awesome job, man. It looks great.



I want to pull my engine now just to do that.

Congrats mate, i was following your build up thread and your award deserves it. IMHO this is what trophys are for, not stupid OTT kits and the usual bullshit awards for crazy soundsystems. Good work son!
