Default ion headlights? can you sand off the blue/yellow?

i have a pair of ion headlights, its not really my style, id rather keep it low key. so yeah, has anyone successfully sanded them? i dont have the heart to test my theory. if i can sand them down ill keep them, if not then ill sell. not my car btw, just used to show what i was talking about.

thanks for the input, but i will buy ctr sooner or later. but just dont got the cash for it right now. i think ima find some donar headlights and put the lenses on the ion headlights since they do have gunmetal housing; which doesnt look too bad
