Yes, hence the name "plug and play" However, most "plug and play" kits have horrible glare that will blind oncoming traffic.

Retro-fit is the preferred method for upgrading to HID lighting.

EDIT for clarity: The stock headlight plug plugs in the the ballast/ignitor that then plugs into the HID bulb.

Retrofit=pina
plug and play=Money in your pocket

But of course retrofit is the preferred method.

12k does not necessarily mean purple, and such. Depending on brand 3-4100k can be yellow. 5-6000k can be pure white. 6-8000k can be light blue. 8-12000k can be deep blue. and 12-18k can be purple. So when looking at different brands you should remember this, so that you do not get something that you dont want............And also the higher the k, the less the total light output there is, so 3000k puts out more light then 12000k, and so on........

I don't see how people think it's 'cool!'

When I see this, it's like another ricer fad. Kinda like when those **** used to buy APR wings and stick em on any car they owned...that's why u saw 1986 volvo's stock...cruising with big *** cf wings. This is the same thing.
