Default How high can the F20C redline possible go?

I've been thinking, i wanted to do some internal work on the S2k. Im thinking about doing some valve work, cams, pistons, crankshaft, anything really, and i was wondering, how far can the F20C redline possible go??? I've heard of ab S2000 that had a 11,000 RPM redline but ive seen no proof of it.

J's had one that revved to 14k but then blew up. I've seen 12k built for track use, not sure how long it lasted

for a street set up fully built u could rev to 9.5-10k and make power all the way.

there was a rumor on s2ki that it can go safely up to 10.5... you would have to tune it to actually make power up there, try it and tell us.

in stock form, no! The stock valve springs/retainers have a limit of 10.2k, after that they break

One of the guys on S2KI (Greenlight) is launching at 10,500, Shifting at 11,500, redlining at 11,750 and states it is still pulling at 11,700. He does have an extensively modified engine and aftermarket cams.

the proper cam and valve train is needed for anything past 9300rpm..... after 9500 its anyones ball game......... its either wam bam power or BOOOOM o expletive. its completely un-needed for go past 9k if you cant build it to make pwr before 9k you should die. just my .02

Whats the point of having a motor rev that high? These arn't F1 cars that can take the abuse and are machined to perfection and rebuilt after every race. Its an f20c. Its made for 9k, thats what it should be

I make power before 9000 rpm but it makes so much more between 9000 rpm and 9500 rpm. It is pumping out 460+ rwhp from 8600 rpm to 9450 rpm. Why stop at 9000 rpm?

Its the same with a turbo, you will make more Hp the higher you go. BUT with turbo you will make ALOT more power under the curve then with the S/C. What would you want, 400 rwhp from 6000 to 9000 rpms or 450hp from 9000 to 9500.
the one car made more hp but the one car made good hp longer.

If we can get our cars to go up to 10k+ we can make more hp longer. Well thats until the intake mani will not flow or the valves go to ****

lol, what a dumb comment

apparently somebody doesn't understand how rpm effects hp

wtf does making power before 9k have to do with anything?

yeah he's a ganster. it should be pointed out that his engine is in a dragster and that it is way way way built. i have some info about his build up straight from the horses mouth by way of some PMs on s2ki.com. if anyone cares ill dig them up and post some of the specifics. some of it he was secretive about but some of it he had no problem talking about. ill only post the stuff i know he doesnt care people knowing about out of respect.

I could say the same for you. Yes, if you can get it to rev higher and everything can support the airflow you will make more peak horsepower.

But when you start accommodating the airflow up top you make the lowe end and mid-range power suffer.

Hence having 600hp between 6000-9000 rpm is much more beneficial then having 650hp between 9000 and 10000 rpm.

Power under the curve really shows how fast your car is. Not peak hp.
