How much is it going to cost to fix this? ,That damn screen was on tight. I just put like 200 miles on this brand new GT35R. Wow, what a let down.
From the looks of it, 3 of the tips are bent. I almost feel like just running it the way it is for now. Damnit this sux!

That sucks, man i should of kept my center section on my 35r. I messed up my exhaust wheel cause my valve broke and killed my engine and turbo... But my compressor wheel was perfect it had 900 miles on it. I would of gave it to you for free
Well let me ask the guy if he still has it. I sold him the whole thing

That would be a great help bro. This just sux cause everything was going perfect till tonight. Car was fully street tuned, was ready to hit the dyno this week, and now this.

I just used some mesh grill for screen doors. I think it's nylon. It was pretty dark out so I can't see the actual damage, but it looks like 2 of the tips are bent. I don't have any pics of GT35R without the compressor cover off to compare.

That is horrible to hear
I've heard so many horror stories about every type of filter - K&N, APC, eBay, nylon, mesh screens, ect. It just seems like no matter what you use it can happen, especially with a massive turbo like the 35R. I would suggest an intake arm off the inlet to a fresh K&N cone. Does it still spool?

I think I read more turbo damage threads with people who use filters and screen ordeals then I read about people who run nothing on their compressor cover...

Thats not bad considering this guy just lost his 35R in 200 miles.

i replaced a 67mm wheel it was about 160$ gt35r is considerably smaller so i dont know if that affects the price. then you would typically want it balanced.
damn that sucks i was considering of putting a mesh on my turbo but as of right now im running open with no air filter. I cant get any intake pipe to clear my turbo. Is it bad to run no air filter. Wht metal grill you guys talking about? The hard stuff??.Im afraid if i put mesh it might get sucked in the turbo
That really sucks man! You've been putting a lot of work into this car over the past couple years. It sucks to see something like this happen.

If it's a metal mesh, it won't flex like a plastic mesh would. As long as the metal mesh is tightened down properly it won't get sucked in.

I've seen metal mesh screens get CUT along the compressor inlet edge, and get sucked right in. I run a metal mesh on my T3/T4 and check it regularly. 2 years no problems so far.

I used regular aluminum screen from home depot. Just got a small roll of the stuff and clamped it down with an intake clamp. I'll see if I can dig up pic.
