Default Info about 92 -97 Civic sedan

I am looking to get a 92 - 97 Civic sedan. What model to get, is there a model with rear disc brakes, and what problem areas to look for? I want to tune it to about 250-275 HP.

92-95 is easier to work on, 96-97 is the 6th gen.

rear disc brakes are worthless.

I read that the auto trans will slam into gear on the 92-95 civics. Is this common, and how much to repair it? Any other common problems?
