Default NT-555R Drag Radial: What tire pressure cold/hot for 1/4 mile runs.

Are they like slicks that run really low psi, or do you run them like a street tire?

15 to 17 psi
So they are like slicks! At the strip 25psi would be way to high then?

You need to check out the latest issue of Sports Compact Car - they review a few tires on a drag strip (a slick, BFG g-Force Drag Radial, and Azenis). They go over tire characteristics and performance at various tire pressures...

I know it doesn't apply exactly to your question, but they found that the Drag Radials ran best at about 14-16 psi...

I thought they would be like the Azenis tire, where 30psi gives you the full contact patch, and lowering the pressure that low on the NT-555R would cause them to ride on the edges giving you much less traction.

25psi is to high. Try 15psi and warm them up a little. Oh and they are nothing like slicks.

I used them at 22psi and was able to pull a best 2.05 60foot time. Mostly 2.1's

edit: I would spin them to get rocks off, but no burn outs.

Yes, with the 555r. With a stock car + JDM header, and cat. All interior, and belts were on the car.

This Question isn't for me it's for a friend with a GSR, although I hear the Azenis is just as good as drag radials in a 1/4 mile run, maybe not as consistant.
