Default 92 Integra GS with Honda B16A motor advice wanted

I've been reading into different oils and oil filters on the forums here, along with spark plugs and spark plug wires etc.

Reason being I just bought this amazing car, and when I got it the motor only had 70 000 KM on it, so its still like brand new basically.

So far I've been using Fram double guard oil filters and Quaker state 5w30 oil. Along with putting in the cheapest gasoline but only from Pioneer gas stations ever. I have NGK Iridium spark plugs in it right now and Bosch premium spark plug wires in it right now. (I keep hearing bosch wires suck for hondas, but why? nobody has ever explained they just say they suck) Also if around the spark plug is dirty but where the actual spark is made is very clean still then the plugs are still good right?

If I want to keep my engine running as strong as I can for as long as I can what do you guys recommend I use on it to keep it that way?

I've been thinking about switching over to synthetic oil and only putting in premium, because premium here is always only 11 cents more, and thats starting to sound worth it, because that will only work out to like 3 or 4 bucks more on each full tank or whatever so i mean thats nothing.

By the way I live in Southern Ontario, and the only really local stores are Wal-mart, Canadian Tire, and Parts Source, anything available anywhere else is pretty out of the way.

Thanks guys.

Lower octane gas will run fine in a stock b16a, no need for premium. Regarding the plugs and wires, honda oem wires are the only kind I like to run for a few reasons. They fit perfectly and last a very long time. I ran an old ef hatch up until last year with original 1989 wires still running like a watch. They also work great on high output stuff like turbo/nitrous applications. Well worth the extra 20 bucks if you plan on keeping the car around for a while.

As far a motor oil and filters, its a tough topic because its mostly opinions. It seems to be well documented that frams filtering element and overall construction is a bit cheap, I wouldnt know because I don't use them. But I have tried every kind of oil there is and nothing seems to be a stand out winner. To me, all thats ever worked is checking and changing it when needed. I've never seen any damage that could be claimed from "bad oil"

I based my recommendation from real world experience, and it works fine. But its up to each owner to find what works right for their particular engine.

Yeah, it seems like pretty much all of this stuff is opinions. But basically if I take care of it, by changing parts when they need to be changed and taking care of the liquids then I should be fine for a long time. At least thats what I'm gathering from everyone I talk to. I think I'll try premium and full synthetic and a different oil filter and see if its worth the extra $. BTW: Right now I use Quaker State oil, its pretty much the number one oil thats pushed in my area, but Castrol is also pretty high up there. Any bad stories about Quaker state or castrol? what about vavoline?
