I got my 94 b18b for $150. Ran fine, just needed some cleaning up. You can get a B16 tranny for about $500. Axles are $75 a piece from autozone with lifetime warranties. Mounts are $300 I think from hasport...and you can get their linkage for like $100 I think. ECU for about $75 and you are good to go. Assuming you have mpfi already.

Any thoughts on the DOHC ZC swap. Was told engine and tranny for 1500. Are parts readily available for this setup? Thanks

depends, dohc zc sounds better to me, as for the b16 its not in your price range like the other dude said, the motor and tranny are, but you still need shift lnkage, throttle cable, Motor mounts, radiator hoses, its gonna be a bit more than 2000 its about 2400, and thats not including labor, you should get either a sohc vtec motor or do a zc turbo, you can use your same tranny, and mounts, as b4 just need to switch ecu and wiring and dizzy for vtec, but im not sure wat u need to do for dohc zc, but ive herd of them making over 200 hp from cheap homemade turbokits, and what do you no, 2grand, is well enough to turbo a zc and put it in your car

haha memory owns me. hmotors sells the b16 complete swap for $1500 I think, or they used to. I sold my b16 longblock for $600 with several goodies. If you look, you will find good deals. Just be patient and do some research before you buy anything. a b18a/b will make more tq than a b16 and be much more fun on teh street. Couple that with a b16 tranny, and you've got a quick little honda. I like the b16 as much as anyone, but I like my b18 more.

Lol. People always say, "swap in a B16 for 1500"

Unless you got the engine super cheap, the swap is gonna cost you way more than that.

Sure you can just slap it in there, but to do it properly and replace all the things that need a tune-up costs alot more. Hell, even coolant, oil, tranny fluid, etc. is something no one ever thinks about.
