Default Timing belt

Im approching the time where i need to have the timing belt changed. I have a 94 honda accord ex. I was just wondering what you guys think a dealership would charge me to have this done. Seeing as i don't have the tools or the time to do it myself. Any guesses or actual prices would be appreciated. Thanks

When I called since I was uncertain as to when it was changed, they said around 600. The best way to lessen that is to buy the parts online... and make sure you get genuine Honda parts.

This seems to be one of the cheapest.

I'm not sure, I didnt ask them what parts would cost. You certainly will have to do the timing belt though so money shouldnt be a factor. Just call your local honda dealer and see what they say, and tell them you have the parts.

Different dealers have different prices "whatever the market will bear"
In my area $75 per Flate Rate hour is normal shop charges; $12 to the Tech and the rest into the dealerships bank account. Trickle down theory does not apply ! !

I changed out my timing belt on my 98 accord, the parts cost around 250.00, at the dealer. They wanted 800.00 for parts and installation, I called a local mechanic shop and they said that they would do it for 400.00 if scince I already had the parts but I decided to do it myself, it took me about 8 hrs.

around here they wanna charge me 600, just for timing belt and water pump alone, anything else like balancer belt, camshaft oil seal, crankshaft oil seal is gonna cost you extra(A LOT MORE EXTRA). O by the way if you are gonna get the timing belt done might as well do those parts i listed they are all in the same area, some ppl might disagree but on hondas those parts have a tendency to fail after awhile. Last look for an independent shop to get that done expletive the dealer, or do it yourself (make suer you know what you're doing)
