98 V6 tranny 112k miles
Well my 98 v6 accord has a slipping transmission
, i know honda had a 100k mile warranty on their v6 tranny's but my car is slightly over with 112k mi. i heard of members contacting honda of america, and were succesful in having Honda pay for at least part of their transmission, i was wondering what is the number to honda of america, and how you pursuaded them to pay for the transmission???

Man, sorry to hear about that bro.
Mine is also at about 113k, so far so good. But the other day my wife was driving in the snow & I was in the passenger, it felt like it was slipping but wasn't too sure, mostlikly just the snow.
Best of luck.

well the 1-800 number is in the owners manual, but you first need to take it to the dealer and talk to the service manager to see if they will 'goodwill' the fix.
If you are denied there; Then you can call American Honda Customer Service.
You have to schmooze them, "I love my Honda", "I want to buy another Honda", and Bullcrap like that.
Most of the time, if over the warranty miles, they will agree to a 50/50 cost, and clip the flatrate pay of the technician doing the replacement.
After all somebody has to pay for the engineers mistakes.
