Default Brake Noise

First timer, My Accords brakes make alot of growling noise when you apply the brakes on a down hill slope. I've had the brakes checked at three shops, 1 said the motor mounts were bad the brakes were fine, another said nothing wrong, Honda says I need a brake job soon. the noise in intermittent at best sometime nothing sometimes it's scarry all the noise.
Thanks for any help or advice. Barry

So it doesnt make any noise if you're on level ground? Only if your going downhill?

Not usually, mostly on downhill slope. something else I just thought of when your on the down slope and the growling sounds you can also hear the fluids in the engine sloshing.

I think the sloshing fluid sound is a separate issue. Mabye you have air in your cooling system.

I'm willing to bet its more of a transmission or driveshaft problem, but that is only a guess at this point. You'd have to pinpoint the sound a little better.

my question is how long have you had the brakes in your car, if you have had them for very long get new ones, if not take of your pads and grease the back of 'em, helped with my squealing brakes, maybe cause i have slotted rotors.

I hope you're not suggesting on introducing GREASE to your braking system. Anti squeal compound is sticky and tacky, while grease will run when it heats up. and run all over your rotors....typically not somewhere you want grease.
