I want to pull the y8 from my 98 ex and put in my built z6 and tuned p28 ecu. After searching it looks like I'll need an obd2a-obd1 ecu conversion harness. I'll need to adapt the injector plugs on the ek harness to fit the dsm injectors on my z6 and i'll need to swap over the alternator from the y8.

Now what I'm not sure about is the distributor difference. Can I use the y8 distributor on the z6 head or do i need to rewire the z6 distributor to work? I think the slot on the y8 cams are degreed differently so I have a feeling I can't swap the dizzys. Thanks for any help.

 

yea the mounting locattion of the mounting is different, aswell as the plugs. i believe you have to use the dizzy that is for the head, and rewire it the correct obd.
