how to tell how much mpg im getting? stupid question.. but help!
alright guys, i have a 94 ej1 w/gsr and i feel like its eating more gas then it should.. how do you guys check or tell how many mpg's u guys are geetting? only problem is i have a tach in Km because its from canada.. anyone?
Why would you look at your Tach?
You fill up your tank, record the millage, when your out of gas devide the new number-old on your odo. by how many gallons you went through.

Thats what I do. On my last civic I was getting anywhere from 360-420 mpg (06 ex) now with the s2k i get anywhere from 180-220
Oh yeah, make sure you look up info for the exact trim and find out how big your tank is if your going to try to figure your mileage per tank like Otherguy since they are different.
You guys seriously have no clue how to do simple math I take it.
Step one, fill up car.
Step two, set trip to 0 or write down odo reading
Step three, drive the damn thing for a while.
Step four, fill it up again and see HOW MANY GALLONS IT TAKES TO BE FULL.
Step four, divide total number of miles drive by how many gallons it took to fill it back up.
Driving to almost empty and then guessing by how big the fuel tank is makes about as much sense as the 200 people a day who ask how much power they will make. A human dyno and a wild guess on fuel usage are both worthless.
BTW, that was not at the op, at least he asked because he didn't know, that was for the brilliant minds explaining to him without having a clue themselves.

yea I have been doing this for a long time and couldn't believe my results. I now fill up at the same pump at the same station as an attempt to further eliminate possible bad data. I have been getting around 38 mpg pretty consistently. I love my y7!
