i know i have a leak around my cam cap and it drips down the tranny and a little down the back of the block. and it seems to be a pretty common leak.

Cam caps can be upgraded to eliminate that leak. If that is what it is.

whats circled in red is the transmission breather tube i think. i dont think that could be leaking unless you have too much tranny fluid in there

replace cam cap with an aftermarket one and take that cover off the tranny breather vent, its meant to be left open.

No, lets not.

That cover should be vented like every other cover on every other transmission. Taking it off will only let dirt and crap inside your tranny....probably not good.

I had a leak once. It was the bolts that hold the vtec in place. The bolts were not stripped but they were not holding. I had the bolt holes filled and tapped again. No more oil leaks!!!!

i have a leak just like that raylude. i believe the tranny fluid is coming from the shift arms (one on top and one on side). if you look at the schematic at slhondparts.com and notice there are two oil seals for each one of those arms. i think the tranny fluid is leaking past those seals, out the arms, and down the tranny, coating the bottom.

yup i think its for the gas build up, i think when you cap it, gases (with oil)tries to escape, going out to the dust cap and the seal making some leak. that's what i think, maybe.

hmm can i use a breather filter? it would look cool huh?

I had a distributor o-ring puke oil all over before, that's another likely possibility of the oil leak
