depends on how much boost you'll be running too. Whats your redline? Open DP will help the situation tho

Its typically a 57trim t3/t04e copy, if not a 50trim straight T3. With the stg3 wheel, probably 5k before you see much boost, maybe 5.5-6k before you get 10psi. It will take longer still when it starts puking oil out of both sides. Not if, but when.

You might as well ask the question now, instead of after any use of this turbo in your car: "Why is there oil spewing out of every orifice on my turbo?" etc.

Point: Just buy a reputable brand turbo

No way. 57 trim you will see 11psi by 5075rpm. Spool starts at about 3500, depending on setup.

Once the oil kicks in it might get a little sluggish.

if i dont like it ill put my spare setup back on .. but its worth a try . not like its hard swapping turbos.. and i think its bigger that a 57 , i dunno all it says on the plate is t3/t4 to4e "0" trim . which makes no sense . but its pretty large

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Dude look on like the peakboost site and you can get a t3/t4 for as low as $619. That is a garrett turbo, not some piece offa ebay. Or at least look for a nice brand name on ebay.

i say just run the turbo if it was that cheap. its sounds like the a/r 50 .57trim that xs power has out. it may not last forever but it will work just fine.
btw: i say full spool around 5k

And not everyone wins the lottery. But some do. Running an SSAuto/XS Power turbo for 1+ year w/o problems is like winning the lottery.

Nobody ever said boost was dirt-cheap. The exception is the HMT setup, but they go through a LOT of **** to get HMT's working right.

LMAO! I like how you think you can estimate when his turbo will kick in on his exact setup down to a 75rpm accuracy.

i ran that turbo on my LS b18b like 2 1/2 years ago.

22psi @ 6,000rpms

went 11.9 @ 115 @ 10psi
went 11.4 @ 125 @ 20psi (plus blew charge pipe at 1000ft)

thats a .70AR turbine i believe w/ .60AR compressor.

I posted pics and specs in another thread about the ssac turbos

man i've been running my cheap xs power setup for about 4yrs now and had never had a problem with my turbo. its a 57 trim which is now running on my stock gsr that went 11.79 @ 115 on a street at 7psi. don't matter what name brand u get at time, depends on how well u put it together and take care of ur setup. most people who think they know it all have never tested or actually know what goes wrong with parts. it mostly goes bad due to these new, I'm a try myself and f**k up whatever name brand turbo and cry about how bad a product is. in most case people try to push 15psi + more threw these kits on a stock exhaust which then over heats the turbo and crack. its like trying to push 15psi threw a straw. try the turbo out and remember to use commen since and it will last long, that goes for any brand turbo u pay for, make sure ur oil lines are good and do not clog and don't have extreme bends in them.

Four years and no problems, your motor must be the Hulk. You ran a high 11 on street tires, or on slicks on the street? That's pretty freakin impressive at only 7 psi.

I totally agree. Any turbo will work and last if they know how it install it the right way. I'm running a cheap ebay tdo4 15g style turbo for 2 years now and no problem whatsoever. Spool fast and hold 10 lbs of boost to redline with no problems.

I mean I guess a turbo is a turbo is a turbo, but me personally would rather have the assurance that what I have came from a name brand and reputable dealer. I've just been taught to stay away from ebay brand turbos.
