How do you get ignition switch off 91 hatch??
I need to replace my ignition switch but I took off the plastic covers and looked at the bracket and I cant see any normal bolts or allen heads holding it on. What is the trick Thanks Toby
They may be, but iy looked like threads of some sort but with out a head. I was veiwing a junk yard donor before I dig into mine. Thanks Toby
yeah those screws have "break away" heads..if you have a dremel tool you could make a little groove on there so a small flathead screwdriver would fit..
you could also get some kind of extractor

I want the entire switch It appears to be held onto the coloume by a u clamp with 2 bolts with out heads

Thats the whole switch, only held on my two screws. The thing it connects to is the key tumbler ( lock body ), not an ignition switch.

you want the silver thing hanging or the white thing..? Im pretty sure you mean the silver thing where the key goes,,and not the white thing where the thieves go.
Then I want the lock body. Mine is worn and getting hard to turn. So I can undo the switch part from the rear and replace just the lock body correct? What holds the lock body in place coming off the colume?

Rivets, like the others posted. Drill them out, and take all heavy objects off your key ring for the future.

have done this like 5 times all you need is a hammer and a screw driver hold a screw diver in an angle and tap the side of those breakouts it takes like 5 min to do each one and when you are ready to put it back on you can use bolts like the ones used to bolt down the front seats
here don't laugh this was made in paint

those bolt are not on very tight
