Cant get hood open need help

Default Cant get hood open need help

ok well somehow the hood cable got disconnected from the latch on the T bar and i cant get my hood open, any1 have any tips on getting this thing open????

Well if you know for sure it has been disconnected from the latch, you can always remove the front bumper and pop it then.

thats gona be kinda hard with the hood closed. anywase this happens to me all the time im too lazy to get a new cable. but what you gota do is stick you hand through the front bumper and grab the cable and pull it itll pop your hood. pull it to the left you should be able to see it through the bumper.

yea iwhen i tried that though the cable was disconnected im trying to get the filler piece out now im just having trouble getting the screws off for the corner lights since the hood is closed this sucks thanks for the input though guys

X2 it takes like 5 min max to remove the bumper, once its off you will be able to see whats going on and you can open it easily with a screwdriver

or stick you arm through the grill, and pull on the lever that the cable connects to and pop the latch. thats how i do it

i bought a cable from a pick-a-part, got raped on the price but figured i would pay the same at an auto parts store, took the bumper off in the parking lot, opened my hood, and then the plastic piece on the cable broke. easiest way to do it is take off the bumper, trust me i just tried all other ways. and screw the paick-a-part off of beach blvd. they suck!

You don't need the hood to be open to remove the bumper.

There are two screws at the edge of the fender wells on each side, two bolts on the bottom underneath the car, and two 12mm bolts behind each turn signal. Both turn signals come out with 1 screw.
