thank you
Not that quick, trust me, especially at Orlando Speedworld
Besides, it takes more than a motor to make you go down the track; you need to factor in suspension, gearing, traction, weight, weather, and driver ability among things.

"You can't use an OBD-1 distributor unless you convert to OBD-1 (which you should do anyways) "

If you convert over to OBD-1 you can do whatever you want with the wires on the distributor and harness side. But he isn't converting to OBD-1, so he is S.O.L.
I have this same swap in a ef sedan and it runs right around a 15.oo in the 1/4 with i/h/e center force clutch, and rewired to obd1 running a p06 converted to a p28 with an eprom chip and a 7500 redline. but yea i had the same problem with my dizzy and had to buy a d16z6 dizzy for it to run right.

With a half-assed pre-OBD setup like you're planning to do, it probably won't be any faster than the D16A6. In fact, it will likely be slower.
If you convert to OBD-1 properly and use a P28 ECU like you should, the car will run 15s easily. Low 15s are possible with bolt-ons.
