I have a 89 CRx si it has its original motor and fri on the way home form work it stuttered and then just stopped running. ran perfect before with no indication of any problems...theres no water in the oil so no blown head and it is getting plenty of fuel...I was wondering if anyone had any more Ideas for me, I have very little money as I have just paid out of pocket for tution and this is my only ride so any help please. The engine will crank but just won't start... thanks all

Check normal maintenance like spark plugs and wires distributor cap and rotor etc have you done any of these yet

you may try resoldering your main relay. i am currently dealing with a very similar problem. my car will start and run just fine, but will then die randomly. the car then wont restart unless you let it sit for a few hours, and then it will do the samething. no check engine lights or anything. unfortunatly for me, i have already replaced the coil, ignitor, alternator, and i have resoldered the main relay, only to discover that it is my ignition switch that is failing, as far as i can tell.

for you, i would start by checking the battery to make sure it isnt dead. then, if it is not, then pull out your alternator and take it to autozone and have them test it to see if it is good. if both of those things check out, either get a new main relay, or pull yours out and resolder it. all of these thing you can do for free, if you have a soldering iron and some solder, like $20 at radio shack.
