ride height for stock crx
I have a 1989 CRX Si with tokico illuminu struts, and stock springs. Will the struts lower the car any, even if the springs are stock? I'm wondering because I want to buy some stiffer springs, but I'm not sure which ones, I'm thinking ground control with adjustable sleeves, or H&R race springs because tirerack has them on special now for the 1989 crx si.
thanks
thanks
its the springs that adjust height.adjustable springs have been noisy in my experience. if you want adjustable get coilovers.
I threw away a set of skunk2 coilovers because the ride was rock hard and rattled over every bump. I like the eibach ones

No, because Illuminas have the perch set at the exact same position as on the stock damper bodies.

Only if the OE springs were sagging or broken. Dampers do not affect ride height at all unless the spring perch position has been altered.

Good inexpensive stock-replacement dampers include Tokico HP ("Blue") and KYB GR-2. Anything significantly better is going to cost at least 50% more than those, but would be overkill for stock springs.

Yeah,my front springs were sagging. So the new shock raised the front up a bit in my case.

Yeah, that's typical.
Both of my original front springs were broken due to rust, so my car sat slightly lower than stock as well. I replaced them with new coilovers, and it sits even lower now.
