i found a really good deal on a rsx type s but im worried about a few things....i know it has to be a 6 speed....but what are some other signs i need to look for.....and do all rsx-s come wiht fog lights.....casue this one does not have any.....thanks need this info asap buying car tomorrow maybe.......

 

fog lights are an option? myn does not have em. all stock? has it been serviced regularly?

 

check for oil leaks, any other kind of leaks, condition of the motor, etc. and fog lights are an option

 

Oil leaks arent much of a problem but near the intake manifold, but if it has under 100k, dont worry about anything. As long as the clutch and brakes are good and third gear doesnt grind. RSX eats up brakes and if the driver before was hard on it, it'll most likely need a clutch soon. Are buying it with a warranty (dont buy any newer expensive car without one) and then just get it, you'll love it.

 

if you are worried about it not being a type s, look at the guage cluster

rsx-s goes to 160 mph and 9k redline whereas the base is 140 mph and 8k redline.

 

Better yet, pop the hood. If the Intake manifold is metal, its a Type-S.

 

check to make sure the paint is not faded ... also check and make sure the oil has been changed if it has alot of miles on it ... if there is any stress marks on the car may be signs of accidents ... good luck ... also the type s has the bose amp holding in the spare tire ... intake manifold is metal ... 6 gears ... cluster marks the red line at 8 grams ... and some other things are different that i cant really remember off the top of my head ...

 

everyones 3rd gear sucks so dont let that stop you

 

somtimes when its cold i go in 2nd gear to like 5k then put it straight in 4th.. its butttta like that sonnn

 

My 02s third is smooth, if yours isnt you need an update on your trans.
