Reasons not to put azenis on steelies?
I am a student and have limited money.. I am not into auto-x competition that heavily to the point where im trying to get to nationals.
I am contemplating buying 14 inch azenis and just puting them on my spare steelies. Does anyone have any reason why I should not do this?
I am asking cause i have never seen anyone put a performance geared tire on a steelie

Do it!
There are plenty of steel racing wheels out there. Just because your wheels are made out of steel and may not see many people doing it, doesn't mean it won't fit your needs. Diamond racing wheels is one example but there are plenty of others. Since you already have the spare wheels, it sounds ideal for your situation.

Honestly, alot of cheapy "steelies" rims are actually lighter than some alloy rims on the market, so you may not actually lose that much performance.
i ran with 215 (old style) azenis on oem 15" steelies for a couple years when i was a student autocrossing my daily driver. it works fine.

You haven't gotten out much then. I see steel wheels all the time in motorsports. They're much stronger and more durable than aluminum wheels, with the only downside usually being weight.
I run 225/45-13 Hoosier A3S05s on a set of 12lb 13x8" steel wheels in CSP. I saved a ton of money over comparable aluminum wheels (we're talking 4 digits), and the difference is only a few pounds. They aren't the most gorgeous wheels out there, but they're 100% functional and get the job done.

No . . .
No . . .
I also ran the older Azenis (RT-215) on stock 14" steelies during my days as a student...

The 14" Azenis and Kraft Easy Mac both got the job done for cheap!

Better - sticky tires on steelies than sub par tires on bling'd out wheels I say!

I used to run 195/60-14 Azenis on my steel wheels at AutoX and track days. They're not as light as the 14" Miata wheels I run now, but they worked just fine and were free! (notice the stock exhaust too, you don't have to spend a lot on the car to have fun at the track)

we have ran the azenis on steelies for Auto-X and TT. Im actually about to mount some Hoosier 195 14's on them for enduros this year
ive gone crAzY and bought 13's, 14's, 15's and 16's

+1 on what everyone said. nothing wrong with getting some good rubber on steelies. hell, they may be just as light or even lighter than some of the afermarket wheels ppl buy to race on...since ur not about being super competitve, it'll do just fine and u can use the rest of the money on more events and other stuff
With my azenis (215's, not 615's), depending on the temperature, asphalt conditions, and whether it's dry or wet, I run anywhere between 28 pounds on the extremely low side and 40 pounds on the extremely high side. Usually I'm in the mid 30s unless I really want it to grip or I really want it to rotate more than it wants to.
