car wont start
I soldered the main relay, because that was the easiest step and it seemed like the problem. Before it would die after filling up at a gas station, happened several times and would start up after two minutes. But a few weeks later it died on the road, mid second gear. Read up and it seemed like the main relay.
Soldered it and it seems okay. But when I turn the key on there is a click and a whirr when the fuel pump runs. Fire it up and it runs for two seconds then goes off, check engine light comes on and I hear the main relay click. Try it again, main relay clicks, fuel pump on for two seconds and it doesnt run. It's sporatic sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesnt.
Any ideas? This is driving me freaking crazy.

join the club, I've been trying to get help for a similar problem with few results. I guess if I want to keep the car I will have to shell out the cash for a shop to fix it. The only problem I have with this is that they don't have any idea what the problem is and will take " time" to fix it.
have you checked out other stuff besides the main relay? maybe check and see if cap and rotor are good... one time i had intermittant failure because the rotor was not screwed on tight.... it's good to check battery cables too, though in your case it is probably not that if your car died while you were driving
