i just installed a used kit off my friend, and i tried to spin the turbo on the intake side and it was very stiff! is this normal? theres no play side to side tho. but just very stiff to spin by hand. is there something wrong with it?? can i do anything about it?

 

that is bad.. you sould be able to spin it easy .. needs to be rebuilt

 

Yea if there is something preventing the shaft from spinning, there is definitely something wrong. Go get it looked at by somebody knowledgeable about turbos or just get it rebuilt.

 

you should be able to hand spin it - if you cant something is definitely wrong- agree with the guy above me - rebuilding might be the way...or grab somebody smart to take a look at it and make sure rebuilding is necessary.
