Default TWM ITBs for a street car?

I'm looking into upgrading the intake system of my lude next (after SMSP header and exhaust). As cool as ITBs sound and as much power as they make, are they able to be tuned for Daily driving?

Also do the gains from them justice the cost over say getting a 3inch TB from ericks racing, a good Intake manifold and having it all ported and polished?

tuning would be done on a P28 chipped with Hondata s300, the increased noise level doesn't really bother me, but is it something that is going to horrifically loud to draw attention from cops even when not accelerating hard?

Also down the line I do plan on running nitrous as one of the final mods for my H22 because of the ITB I would have to run a direct port kit correct? I'm not really sure on how much nitrous the stock bottom end of a H22 can handle and with direct port kits 75hp seem to be the lowest shot offered can the bottom end take that stock from a direct port kit?(figure I can restraint myself enough to spray about 3-4 times a week)

I put TWM as thats the only company I know that makes ITB for the lude without having to custom make them, I wouldn't even know where to start on a custom project like that other then asking Blake he he. Are there any other companys that ofter a ITB set up for H22 that I should look into?

EDIT: forgot to put this if I do decide to go with the TB/IM set up I'll probably end up putting a BPI flowstack on the end of my 3inch AEM CAI I'm in california so I'm not worried to much about the rain getting in. I would like to keep it a CAI as I like the midrange gains from it over the top end gains of a SRI

Your gonna need atleast some higher lift cams to make any of the off the shelf TWM's be worthwhile. I believe they have 50mm and 52mm throttles which are pretty damn big for a stock internal motor. Mine were 46mm and i did my best to size them with the information i had from http://www.jenvey.com

Also, i would look around for other companies who have a ITB lineup. The TWM's are nice but i have read that they sometimes have problems with the throttle plates sticking. Just be sure to do your part and research other brands than the TWM's. I wish Jenvey made an H22 application. It would probably be worth your while to contact them and see what they say about getting an H22 app made.

A good IM and properly sized TB can go a long way. But i dont see any "marketed" IM at this time that could outperform ITB's being used as they should (cam'd motor).

When i had my ITB's running, i really didnt notice a significant change in how loud the engine was. The only difference was that you could literally hear each intake pulse

as far as the nitrous, you would have to run a direct port kit unless you made an enclosure to run a fogger or EFI kit.

My input on this... ITBs don't always make more power than a plenum with a correctly sized throttle body... Which, not to mention, are MUUCCCCH simpler to tune, and cheaper.

As 98vtec stated, it would be kind of pointless on an otherwise stock engine. Other than sounding cool, which I agree with you, they sound great.

on a motor that can actually make use of properly sized ITB's, you'll find it hard pressed to make a IM/TB make the same kinda power that ITB's are capable of. IMO theres not a single production IM/TB combo that could touch a set of properly sized/tuned ITB's.

now get into custom sheetmetal IM's and you will be able to compete with ITB's.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was refering to "off the shelf" ITBs, not custom made units.
