Ignition switch going bad ?
'01 Accord. Sometimes when I go to start it I get nothing. I have found that if I giggle the steering wheel a little it will kick in and fire up. Is the ignition switch going bad or is there some kind of steering wheel lock out switch ?
thanks for any suggestions/help.

There was a recall on the ignition switch. If you're not the original owner, call the dealership and give them your VIN so they can tell you if the recall has been performed for your car.
Thank you .. I am the original owner but do not remember a recall notice. I'll call the stealership.
on edit :
I did a quick search and found this recall:
2001 HONDA ACCORD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH
Recall Date: 01/28/2005
Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE INTERLOCK OPERATION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE "OFF" POSITION AND REMOVE THE KEY WITHOUT SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION TO PARK.
Consequence:
IF THE DRIVER DOES NOT SHIFT TO PARK BEFORE REMOVING THE KEY AND FAILS TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE, THE VEHICLE COULD ROLL AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL PERFORM AN INSPECTION PROCEDURE THAT CONFIRMS INTERLOCK FUNCTION. VEHICLES WILL BE UPDATED WITH A REDESIGNED INTERLOCK LEVER FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 7, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009 OR ACURA AT 1-800-382-2238.
Potential Units Affected: 486659
Notes: HONDA ACCORD P68, P69
Mine is a manual.. I'll still call the stealer to validate.

If the Honda of America didn't have your current address, you would have missed the recall notice. There's a little more to the recall then what was officially listed. I know they mention automatic transmissions, but it people with manual transmissions have had the recall performed as well.
