99 warrenty/maintenance schedule???
Hi,
I did a search for maintenance records and warrenty maintanence schedule and came up with nothing. SO.......
I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX that I bought off local Honda Dealer and of course got on the Severe maintenance schedule for where I live.
When I bought the car, since they did a maintenance once over the scheduled maintenance is over by 1,000 miles exactly. In otherwords on the schedule it would go in at 90,000 miles for the next "checkup" But in reality it goes in at 91,000. Will my warrenty be voided if I don't go in on exact scheduled milage or does Honda work with time of purchase dates and milage?
MY QUESTION IS: If I wait until 91,000 will the Extended Warrenty be void since I didn't do it at 90,000 like the schedule says? Or do they know that the milege schedule doesn't coinside with the actual mileges because of how long it was on the lot with out being driven?

Thanks philadd
I did call the warrenty dept and they said that isn't a big deal. As long as it isn't like 3-4000 off should be OK. (For the money you pay for extended warrenty it should be OK.
Service says NO WAY gotta get that on track with actual schedule.
Which really wouldn't make since for if that is the case it will always be 1000 miles off. So I guess I need a new dealership--This one can never get the same answer out of those two departments.
YEP! In otherwords I've had other problems with them disagreeing with each other on different items of interest.

It all depends on the service managers at each dealership. Some are d***heads and will do anything to make you pay more. Others have great service and don't make a big deal from nothing. I'm lucky enough to have multiple dealerships to choose from, all with good service.
Don't be afraid to point out that the warranty dept says it's fine, as long as you do it before hand (to avoid getting screwed over). If they really care about customer service, they'll do what it takes to make you a repeat customer.
But, from what you've stated, I would lean towards a different dealership.
