b16a into ef9 ecu question. need help
dropping a b16a obd0 into my ef hatch and cant find an addapter for the ecu. the one that came out of the car is a PM9 the one that i recieved with the engine is a PR3 and are both obd0. but the only adapter harnesses i can find are to go from obd0 to obd1. anybody know where i can locate the adapter harness that i need?
I honestly have never seen one. I've seen obd0 dpfi to obd1 mpfi, but that's about it. I think you're going to have to break out your soldering iron and start doing a mpfi wiring swap, and then add the necessary wiring for the pr3.
No need for a jumper if you're using an obd-0 PR3. You will need to convert to MPFI though if its not already done in order for the car to run.

You'll throw codes for vtec solenoid, oil pressure switch, knock sensor, and secondary o2 sensor. Those are the extra wires I was talking about.

I wasnt repsonding to you but ok. Its hard to tell what the original poster is asking. As i understood it, he thinks he needs a conversion harness so his obd-0 pr3 will plug in? The ecu plugs are the same across the board for obd-0 so it will plug in. As for what additional wiring is needed, he wasnt specific enough and really didnt even ask about it.

You're right though, the info given was kind of vague.

No worries man, maybe when he gets more speicific we can help him out. OR he could just use the search function, lol.

Well heres an easy test. Have u tried plugging it in to your car?

oh, wait. try plugging it in??? maybe i should do that..... yes ive already tried that. im not a complete moron. thats how i came to discover that it doesnt fit. like i said the connectors are different colors and sizes. someone said that all of the obd0 ecu have the same connectors. so i thought i would check and see if that made a difference or not. should i just order a obd0 to obd1 and try it or buy a pw0 ecu. which would be my best bet?
Sounds like you have a obd1 pr3 just might a well convert to obd1 if you not in a hurry to get on the road down the line there are more options of tuning a obd1 car if your going to do work to it.
ok. guess ill try that. but the list of honda ecus doesnt list an odb1 pr3. just obd0. thats why i didnt know what i should get. but hell. if its not what i need then ill just sell it and buy a different ecu or something.
The only reason i said try plugging it in was b/c u stated u had an obd-0 swap that has the matching obd-0 ecu, which theoretically should plug right in.
I do believe there was an obd-1 PR3. I have an OBD-0 B16 ECU to save u some headaches. Let me know if you're interested.

There is more to it than just the conversion harness. At the very least, you will also need an obd-1 distributor and a 4 wire O2 sensor.
$100 for my obd-0 B16 ecu.
