Code 9 - Idles / Runs poor
1999 Accord 4 cyl has been running poor and is throwing the "blink code" 9 which is
CYP Sensor (Cylinder) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
* invalid code for throttle body injection Hondas
** invalid code for V6 engines
I've searched the forum for CYP and found a lot of threads but everyone that posted said their car "ran fine but is giving code 9"
My car isn't running fine and its giving the code.
I guess the question is: is the CYP sensor failing and making my car run poor? How can I test to see if i need to replace the distributer?
Thanks a lot.

It's a silly question, but are you sure it's not a code 90 instead of 09? 90 would be for EVAP control system leak near either the fuel tank or canister, depending. I've seen enough people confuse the digits rather easily, so I figured it was worth mentioning. Take it to AutoZone and get the full code if you have the time, which would look like Pxxxx.
