removing abs system

Yeah but for those w/ racing experience it can put a damper on things. 10% lock up is always good on inside front wheel to give the car some turn in
ABS is great. WHEN IT WORKS
If you're out on a small track, you'll probably destroy the ABS sensor (wiring), and when it goes out, it goes out in a big way. Remember when someone shoved a stick in your bicycle wheel spokes? Yeah, same basic feeling, only the rotation happens on a different axis.
Heat insulate the ABS wiring, and duct some air towards the brakes/hub if you can.

i just want to convert my car to a non abs car... if i were to take out the abs unit.. and all the lines.. i want to know what i need to run the brakes?... will ls brake lines work?... how bout the proportioning valve?... so basically i just want to convert into a non abs car similar to an ls...
Why in the world would you want to do this? I am repairing my ABS system.
If you want to test it out and see what it's like, pull the ABS fuse or unplug the ABS ECU.

My ABS pump prior to removing the relay was bad anyway. If there was a more cost effective in repairing I would have done it.
Bad idea, imo, but do what you like.

Quit bickering and send me a new ABS pump.
F#@$ ABS!! Just a worthless POS sitting in your bay adding weight and reducing performance because of it! Pull it, I say........BTW: you will need LS lines and prop. valve to yank it all. It's not difficult in the least. (recommendation: score a set of SS brake lines while you're at it!
) Good Luck!

(The RealTime guys did it because regulations did not allow it.)
i just wanted to know what parts i need to get or replace when removing the abs system if any?
Go to a junkyard for the lines/booster and valve. Get the MC new, because it's not worth taking a chance installing a busted MC.
No ABS = 20-25 lbs. weight reduction., and definitely a good choice if you're not a track ****.
removing the ABS unit is very easy but you'll need to redo your brake lines.......less weight you'll have to worry about. I've done it I stop fine. without my ABS......

thanx for all the replies... i would leave the abs on if the car was for the streets.. but im planning to track it... drag only.. so braking on corners wouldn't be much of an concern..

Integra RS master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve, and hard lines.

Anyhow, where is the prop valve on the vehicle and why is it mandatory? Im about to do the non-ABS install in a few weeks and trying to get all my guns loaded.
I got a few questions for you if you dont mind: (if you know, other than Mike K, please respond!)

1) How long did it take you to swap ABS lines for RS (non ABS) lines out?
2) I read some where and Im not too sure how accurate it is, but I read that 94-01 Integra's use the same prop valve? Is it completely MANDATORY to use the RS prop valve?
I got some more questions some of you might know too:
1) Where is the bleeding screw on the MC, if there is one?
Im going to invest in the Motive Pressurized Bleeder and wondering how all "the old fluid gets pushed out into...."
Sorry for a handful of questions, and thanks for the help.

i finished the abs removal... all i did was purchase a non abs proportioning valve and some brake lines from kragen... the lines i got look exactly like the oem ones.. i bent my own lines with no problems... i retained the 2 brake lines that goes to the rear brakes... you will need atleast 4 brake lines... buy more if ur not satisfied with the bends... the non abs prop valve does not bolt on the firewall like the abs prop valve does... so i hade to make a custom bracket for it to be stable and fit all the lines... hope that helps....
So since I have all the OEM brake lines, no customization should be necessary.
Can you take a picture of your "bracket" for the prop valve. Is it NECESSARY to upgrade to the non-abs prop valve?
