Guys, I need some opinions 07' I4 or V6
Hi Guys: I am planning to buy 2007 accord EX-L but still can't decide I4 or V6. What do you guys think? I wanted it to be fuel efficient but I am afraid the I4 can't move when it's going up a hill....... Thanks, guys!
Oh, one more thing, the sales give me $22000 for I4 includes every fees, except Tax. Do you think it's a good deal?

seriousally, wait for the new model to come out. That is what I would do. Because like all new models, they will be more powerful then the previous ones. So the I4 will be better then the current one and the V6 should be somewhere around 300hp. Its up to you but those are my thoughts.

True on power. But It depends which generation he likes better. I would have to wait and see the 8th gen driving around on the streets. I wouldn't order one just having seen pics and a car in a showroom.
I do like the idea of the V6 6-speed. Surley there will be an 8th gen version too, which should be wicked quick.

If the rumors are true that Honda is switching to a MacPherson strut front suspension for the '08 Accord I would get the '07 V6 6-speed. I have an '07 EX-L I4 5spd, and while it gets good gas mileage, (I average 28mpg in 80% city 20% highway driving) and has plenty of acceleration for normal use, I would recommend a V6 6spd, I am sorry I didn't buy one.
Jon
PS: I paid $22000 OTD for mine.

I have the V6 auto (03). It is pretty powerfull, and gets over 30mpg easy on the highway, 23mpg around town. I think the I4 is a little underpowered for this size car. Some people are content with the I4 (they sure sell a lot of them). You have to pay a couple thousand more for a V6, but I think it's worth it.

Tell us what part of the world you're in so that people can recommend high volume dealers with the best prices.

When you're talking about new Hondas, it's an academic argument.
Neither motor has any kind of reliability issues.

I just bought an '07 SE 2.4 w/ 5 speed and I couldn't be happier. I'm averaging 30+mpg on highway driving and right at 30mpg at city. It's pleny fast enough with the stick.
I see no reason to get a v-6. The 4cyl. is smooth, quiet and quick.

I also jumped on an '07 for this reason. Plus, with all of the issues occuring with the Civics, I didn't want the first year of the Accord.

I haven't heard about any particular Civic issues that would keep me from buying a 2006+ Civic.
What are you talking about?
By the way, I will frequently get 30+ miles per gallon with my 2006 Accord 6-6. You just have to watch what you're doing.
The car comes on the cam at 5000, and the secondary runners open at 4000. You can accelerate fairly briskly and still get 30 mpg as long as you are shifting below 4000!
Of course, if you're having to engage in urban warrior antics like we hve in NoVA/DC sometimes, you're going to get it down to 25 mpg easily, and the real hot shoes will get even less than that.

I happened to stumble onto this topic (I hardly frequent the Accord forum). How much would you guys say a 06' LX I-4 with a stick go for (say 15-20k mileage)? I love the looks, the interior room (102.y cu ft!!), and the fuel economy. Also, is the Special Edition worth considering? Seeing as how the differences in price seems to be about $700.
V6 will move to the 260HP range not 300....there is not a chance tha an accord will have more power than a TL type S and that is currently at 3.5L and 286HP.

I have an 06 SE 4cyl 5spd sedan w/ already 23k miles. Might as well get the SE if you want audio control on steering wheel and disc brakes on rear tires instead of drums. There are extra little things like 6 disc changer, carbon fiber trim, etc. Plus, it comes w/ 16" alloys like the EX model instead of 15" hubcaps. Either way, you can't go wrong but if you can, get the dark interior instead of beige because it gets dirty too easily.
