Default Street tires, to heat up or not to heat up prior a run

Some one wrote in a tread that cold street tires are as good as warmed up street tires. What are your thoughts on this? Does it make such a great difference?

the only time you need to heat them up for is if you are drag racing!!!! tires will warm up after you drive on them for some time about a mile or two depending on the temp outside
