ok for one you cant just have a vtec in your car and also the only way you have vtec is if your motor is an f22b1 also yes it will run good if the car is in good shape and was maintained and on schedule matienience

if your V-Tech is messed up, you need to send an e-mail or call this number

JK man but its VTEC not v-tech. Anyway, I own a 4th gen Accord 90-93, and I'm pretty sure if you buy a 98 it will come with vtec and then you can do some searching as to what else you want to do. Theres a number of things. First mods usually start with intake, headers and exhaust. For looks and handling I would suggest looking for some lowering springs, thats just to start. Have fun

no, thats not true. Yes, the F22B1 is a VTEC motor but thats not the only way. There are other VTEC engine and head swaps that can be done to Accords.

ThE_GuRu_87:
I would suggest doing some research. Read through some of the links in the Accord FAQ and also read through the Guide to Basic Accords. Both are stickied at the top of the Accord forum to easily locate them. After reading through those you should have a better idea of what you want.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 6th Gen (98-02) Accords had three different engine options.
1. F23A1 - 2.3L I4 SOHC VTEC
2. F23A4 - 2.3L I4 SOHC ULEV VTEC
3. J30A1 - 3.0L V6 VTEC

Finding a 5-speed with vtec isn't too difficult....but I'd make sure you buy a 5-speed before anything else.

And yes, the '98 has an f23 motor, not an f22.

There's also the F23A5 - 2.3L I4 SOHC non-VTEC motor, found in the DX (and Value Package) sedans.

Most people never really had a choice between the F23A1 and F23A4. Certain areas of the country (like California) automatically got the ULEV motors instead of the F23A1. Here in Houston, you could special order the ULEV motor if you really wanted, but otherwise it wasn't available.
