Default What are plugs 212 and 313 for on the EF si models?

Okay, so my friend has a DX and he doesn't have the 6 pin plug on the passenger side shock tower numbered 212. I tried finding out what that plug is for with the pdf scan of the helms manual I have, but had no luck.

Also, his DX and my SI both have the plug 313 on the driver side shock tower, this is a 14 pin plug, next to the injector resistor box on my car.

I want to know if both the DX and SI's 313 plug's wires go to the same pins on the ecu, or not. Does anybody have a kickass site about each honda plug, and where they go, for different models? I doubt it, but let me know.

Thanks.

Well I know how to change from DPFI TO MPFI if using the DX engine harness with the SI or VTEC engine. I've done that on a 90crx dx. e t But i'm wondering what those 2 plugs do are for, because he bought a swap from a kid who already had the b16 inside an EF si car. So he doesn't want to hack up his DX harness engine harness, cuz he's already got one on this b16 motor.

I have searched, tons of mpfi and dpfi swap sites, links, but can't find any with info about the plugs.

Thinking i'm just gunna buy a wire tracer that lets you send a current through a wire, then you can test each wire at the ECU plugs to trace it. From fleet farm only like $50 bucks.

All you need is a volt meter and use the continuity setting.

This is from a zc swap in a hf.
Connector 212 HF on right tower 6pin
1)red/wht tw sensor input (ECU)
2)yel/wht reference voltage egr valve sensor (will not be used)
3)yel back up swtich
4)red/yel IAT sensor input (ECU)
5)--------- empty
6)grn/blk back up switch

Connector 313 HF on left tower 8 pin
1)wht ignition ouput signal (to igniter)
2)blu/yel IAC valve
3)yel/blk 12v+ switched (injectors)
4)brn injec#1
5)yel injec#4
6)yel egr valve lift sensor ref. voltage. (not used)
7)red inj#2
8)lt blu inj#3

Connector 212 Si on right tower 6pin
1)red/wht Twsensor input (ecu)
2)wht ignition output signal (to igniter)
3)yel back up light switch
4)red/yel IAT input (ecu)
5)----------
6)grn/blk back up lights

Connector 313 Si onleft tower 8pin
1)brn injec#1
2)red injec#2
3)blu fast idle contrl solenoid valve (SI only)
4)blk/yel 12v+ switched
5)yel injec#4
6)lt blu injec#3
7)yel/blk 12v+ swtiched (injectors)
8)blu/yel IAC valve

Sweet, we were able to use some of the extra wires from the 14pin 313plug off of the DX chassis, so we didn't need to run extra wires for the injectors. We just used a loner 212plug off of an SI and depined a few spots on the ecu.

Do you need to do anything special to get the reverse lights to work, I think they run through the 212plug.

Also, is there any reason why the tach wouldn't be working? The car this motor came from the tach didn't work, and after swapping in the b16 into this DX car, the tach doesn't work here either.

I really don't know. You should check the connections on the dizzy for the tachometer problem. I don't know about the reverse lights.

Anybody know if the blue tach signal wire going to the tach comes from the ECU? Or does it come directly from the distributor? The last guy that had this engine hooked a wire up directly from the tach in his car to an aligator clip right off the distributor. VERY GHETTO.

I'm thinking that the blue wire running from the tach is somehow cut or shorting out before it leaves the engine bay.

We will investigate further.

Get a multimeter and check continuity from the dizzy plug to the ecu. If the wire is broken then this will tell.

do you happen to know what pin and plug the distributor tach signal is on the ecu?

What year is the car? The connectors are different on different years.

1991 SI
I don't remember which wire is the tach, If it is the blue with yellow stripe it goes to C29 on the ecu. If it is blue with green stripe it goes to C21.

1988-1990 SI
Blue with yellow stripe C9
Blue with green stripe C1
