Clear Bra's
Anyone using the clear plastic bras on their car? It seems to be popular on other car sites that deal with higher end cars, but it shouldn't matter if you've dropped 3k+ on your paint. Any insight or reputable manufactors?
i know what your talking about, its like a clear sticker that you cant see unless you are close up. ive seen it when i worked at toyota/lexus. they do their job definitely

Exactly why I want one, they are great but I need more info from users about companies that sell them. I know some of them yellow and some of them have a lifetime warranty...need to find just the right one.

some people end up spending like a grand for some sticker
might as well get a spray job once you correct enough chips

I know what your talking about, my cuzin was going to get one for his fater for chirstmas but when he started really looking into them they came out to be anywhere from $750 + ... Needless to say he changed his mind about getting one. But they do work wonders and you can't even tell they are there.
call around in your area. look for reputable shops. i was going to do it. im probably still going to...after i get my whole bumper repainted. i got a quote for $350 for front bumper, hood, mirror, and fenders.

i have the invisible bra on my tacoma from Star Shield Armor. Works great....it's seen rain, snow, mud, all kinds of crap, does what its meant to do, protect the front end. It's saved me a couple of times. Worth the money to save from painting the front end again from rock chips, etc.
Personally, i recommend it to alot of people, especially the ones that pay alot for a nice paint job or have like cf lips, aftermarket bumpers, etc. They can put the film on just about any part of the car.

From what i know, 3M makes the actual film, they do not put it on the vehicles. Star Shield buys direct w/ 3M and cuts the vehicle kits and also installs them. There are other companies out there that use other material other then 3M, and i've seen those other companies films yellow, fade and come off after time. 3M is the ****.

oh boy don'tttttt when i bought my car it had it all over the front end and first it doesn't let the paint shine in the areas that is in so i decided to take it off no problem of the bumper only took me a couple of hours and a lot of goo gone lol got to the hood completely different story it gets stuck to the hood so hard that it was bringing the factory paint with it to make the story short i had to repaint my hood cuz it took half the paint off

This is what i was just thinking about. I've heard alot of good things about this. And the local shops around here only charge about 3-400 for the whole front end. Thats not much when you dumping grands into your paint.

the main goal of the invisible bra is to protect from rock chips, etc. On darker colored cars, it's more visible. True, your paint won't shine completely like the rest of the car, but it's not there to make your car super pretty. But i mean, when your investing alot into a car, theres no point in spending more money to repaint or touch-up the front end, when you can just get this and be done.

Some guy I know put some on the tip of his hood and they had some to custom fit his headlights and tailights...it's really nice and you absolutely cannot tell that it's on there unless you get down and close to it. I think he said something about 3M as well, but I'll double check with him.

usually from a distance, you can't really see it, until you actually walk up and look for it, then you'll see it.
